Joyful Japan: Nagoya to Kyoto Shopping Tour 2024

Nagoya + Takayama + Kanazawa + Kyoto Shopping Tour

Discover unique gifts for the holidays plus so much more

Prepare for your holiday season in style while enjoying gourmet meals and steaming onsen

Stroll the traditional streets of Takayama to find artisanal delights

Experience traditional Japanese culture, history, and craft-making while uncovering the perfect omiyage for friends and family. This fully-guided tour begins with a visit to Ise Grand Shrine (Ise Jingu), the most prominent shrine in all of Japan, and also includes stunning destinations such as UNESCO World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go Village and Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa Prefecture, which was awarded three stars by the Michelin Travel Guide. There’s even a night at a private onsen!

In every region we’ll seek out various handmade goods in such as gorgeous lacquerware, artisanal pottery, traditional washi Japanese paper products, and of course the most scrumptious cuisine you’ve ever tasted! A particular highlight is the premium Snow Crab dinner in Kanazawa. Only available during the winter months of November and December, kobako-gani is a highly-regarded delicacy of Kanazawa, even having their own brand name, called Kanaiwa Kobako. A true specialty!

Another notable destination is a visit to Shirakawa-go Village, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Shirakawa-go and its environs is the only place in Japan that still has original dwellings built in the gassho-zukuri style, with thatched roofs that slant steeply to the ground to mitigate the region’s heavy snowfall. The local economy was traditionally driven by silkworm cultivation but now serves as one of the country’s best showcases of how village life was closely adapted to the area’s particular social and economic circumstances.

Enjoy a night with a PRIVATE onsen in your room!

Gaze in wonder at the spectacular winter light-up illumination at one of Japan’s leading theme parks just outside of Nagoya, Nabana no Sato, for a sight that’s truly not to be missed. Wander through multiple markets and ichiba shopping streets to discover regional goods that you won’t find anywhere else. After absorbing the splendors of the Japanese countryside, spend your last couple days in and around Kyoto, a fascinating city that blends the modern with the ancient, including a full free day to shop and dine at your own pace!

Including 18 delicious meals, a free pocket WiFi router, and airport lounge access at Honolulu Airport, this pre-Christmas tour is the perfect way to surprise everyone on your gift list with truly unique treats. Savor multiple nights at comfortable, relaxing onsen (hot springs) hotels, incredible meals at local restaurants, plus find extra-special gifts to ensure your holidays are anything but ordinary. Come celebrate with HIS Hawaii!
